Gary Blackburn
Gary Blackburn qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and became a member of the Insolvency Practitioners' Association in 1989. He remains one of the highest profile Insolvency Practitioners in Yorkshire, having dealt with the insolvencies of many "household names". Gary has held senior positions within KPMG and Begbies Traynor, where he was a Partner, prior to forming BWC in 2004. His specialisms extend across the construction, retail and leisure industries, having acted as Administrator of the Doncaster Racecourse and KW Linfoot, Leeds' most prolific property development company.

Gary operates principally from the Leeds office.

Paul Whitwam
Paul Whitwam has over 20 years' experience in corporate recovery and insolvency matters. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991, he became a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner the following year. Paul has held senior positions with Deloitte and Begbies Traynor, where he was a Partner, prior to forming BWC in 2004. Paul's specialism's centre around corporate insolvency, including complex company restructuring and turnaround.

Paul operates principally from the Leeds office.

David Willis
David Willis began his insolvency career in 1992. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998 and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 2002. David joined BWC as a partner in 2009 and is Partner in Charge of the North Yorkshire and Teesside offices, where he advises clients across North Yorkshire, the Tees Valley and County Durham. Prior to joining BWC, David held senior positions, as a partner in the Regional firm of Jacksons Jolliffe Cork, and as a Director of Tenon Recovery (where, in addition to his role as Director, he sat on the National Technical Committee, where he consulted on the formulation of procedures and policy for the firm). David's specialism extends to Football League club administrations, food processing, motor trade, IT, manufacturing and retail.

David operates principally from the Harrogate and Teesside offices.

Non-Executive Director

Chris Jones
Chris brings to the firm a wealth of knowledge as a business advisor with substantial hands on experience. Chris spent nine years as Managing Partner of international law firm, Hammonds, and has served as Deputy Chair of Britannia Building Society and Main Board Director of Co-op Bank. He has also served as Director and Chairman of a number of SME's. Chris' experience means he has real empathy with management which has enabled him to successfully manage the turnaround of a range of businesses.


Managers

Martyn Pullin
Martyn began his insolvency career with Jacksons Jolliffe Cork in 2002, which then became part of Tenon Recovery in 2006. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005 and passed his JIEB exams in 2010. Martyn joined BWC as a Manager in 2008, establishing the firm's Teesside office, and has strong relationships with professionals throughout North Yorkshire and the North East of England.

Victoria Lythe
Victoria has over 10 years' experience in insolvency. After obtaining a degree in Law, she held positions at Grant Thornton and Baker Tilly, gaining both corporate and personal insolvency experience. Victoria joined BWC in 2004 and her specialism is Personal Insolvency. She operates a large caseload of Bankruptcies and Individual Voluntary Arrangements. Victoria works in the Leeds office as a Manager and is studying towards obtaining her JIEB qualification and insolvency licence.

Peter Scriven
Peter began his insolvency career in April 2004 when BWC was formed and comes from an engineering and sales background. Peter works as a Manager in the Leeds office and specialises predominantly in Corporate Insolvency, covering a variety of industries and sectors. Peter has particular experience with Company Voluntary Arrangements, Administration pre-packs and both Members' (solvent) and Creditors' (insolvent) Liquidations. Peter is currently studying to achieve his insolvency licence.

Sue Bell
Sue has over 20 years' experience in insolvency. She joined BWC in November 2004, having previously worked at Begbies Traynor and Deloitte in Leeds. Sue works in the Leeds office as a Manager and has extensive knowledge of Administrations and Liquidations.

Mark Pintar
Mark has over 10 years' experience in insolvency, having previously worked for KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bartfields. Mark specialises in Corporate Insolvency, in particular Creditors Voluntary Liquidations and pre-pack Administrations. Mark joined BWC in 2009 and works as a Manager in the Leeds office.
